Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!

Okay, now that all the pre-made stuff is out of the way, I hope you have a really great time on Wikipedia. I know from experience that it's scary when you first start, and it seems like there's a billion different things to do. There ARE a billion things to do, but there's also enough people around that you don't have to do all of them. Find what you do best, and do it. No matter what you do, it helps the Wikipedia grow! Oh, and sorry if it seems creepy that I'm messaging you on your first day. I just noticed your edit said it was your first time, so I figured I'd welcome you.  :) Mo0[talk] 05:49, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Heh, thanks for the welcome Mo0 :D Stephen2417 19:44, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

ECOT

[edit]

Hi, like the infobox. Wasn't aware it existed, so thanks.

Did some minor additions. Have to update the logo, add the staff, faculty, and student numbers and a couple other things.

Funny you should mention getting FireFox, as I did about a month ago. Been busy setting up my own Wiki and haven't visited -pedia for a while.

By the by, SEP is getting Wikified for 07/08. No joke. Have a meeting on Wed. about some of the particulars. You graduated too early! ;-)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Dragonflycms-logo.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dragonflycms-logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:14, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Ecot.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Ecot.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 174.102.83.126 (talk) 19:51, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Stephen2417/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. File source problem with File:Dragonflycms-defaultinstall.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Dragonflycms-defaultinstall.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ~ Rob13Talk 12:41, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
