years page layout

[edit]

I have made some year layout proposals which would affect a significant proportion of the year pages: an example of proposed style is 1850. It is detailed on my talk page. However pre 1800 the change is largely cosmetic.

If no-one flags where I have put the discussion on my talk page that they object in a month I will start making everything consistent. It may take some time... --BozMo 19:32, 10 May 2004 (UTC)(talk)[reply]

Format

[edit]

09-December-2006: As of December 2006, each year has a different format, as people add events or subhead categories, "Ship events" and such. Year 1778 had month-name subheads parallel to the "Events" subhead (which had events with no months). I divided Events as 3 groups: Jan-June, July-December, and Unknown-dates. It seems unless month names are identified in subheaders, the un-dated events get added into scattered locations. As with any Wiki article, the format evolves, and multiple people must edit to maintain all 5: new facts, accurate facts, images, Wiki-format, and consistency with related articles. It is too difficult to expect each person will master all 5 jobs. -Wikid77 17:11, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

UK declared war

[edit]

"February 6 – American Revolutionary War: In Paris the Treaty of Alliance and the Treaty of Amity and Commerce are signed by the United States and France, signaling official recognition of the new republic" - a short time after that (when exactly??) the UK declared War to France. Does so. know the exact date ? --Neun-x (talk) 08:31, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you read further down the page, it says that on July 10, France declared war on the UK. /Ludde23 Talk Contrib 10:51, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
