The word is still very common in french. You could probably write a mention about that. There is no portmanteau word in french but it is obvious that the english portmanteau comes from that spelling A french reader, in Paris —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.242.1.83 (talk) 07:56, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
