Source for Allen's fave quote?

[edit]

Can an Amazon.com review really be taken as a source for Allen claiming that this is his favorite of his films? I've heard the same said of him about Love and Death. --B. Phillips 01:44, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Relevance of the 9/11 attacks to Allen's opinion ?

[edit]
Allen's opinion
In a rare public appearance at the National Film Theatre just after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Allen listed The Purple Rose of Cairo as...

What do the 9/11 attacks have to do with his appearance? If they prompted it, then that needs to be cited, if not, then they have no bearing, and the date of the appearance, or even late 2001 would be more appropriate.

Filming locations

[edit]

It says that the diner is 'now' in Ithaca, NY, from NJ. How is this so? It's not like they moved the diner, did they? If only the name went, that's not really relevant to the filming location - perhaps specify the diner's current name in NJ, if so. Achromatic (talk) 06:50, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Kent Theater in Brooklyn, really ought to have its own page... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.124.116.101 (talk) 02:54, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Twilight Zone

[edit]

Season 1, Episode 4 of Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone, "The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine", which was first broadcast on 23 October 1959, has a similar plot to this film. Was it an influence? Eroica (talk) 18:10, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
