how can this have "cell size of 30 km" and cover 100% of Finland with 140 base stations!!??!! Mozzerati 08:32, 2005 Feb 6 (UTC)
Easily. 3,14*(30^2) ~= 2827 km^2 covered by each base station (give or take a little) * 140 of them is almost 400,000 km^2. Minus some thousands for cell overlap / geographical problems etc. Finland's area is 340,000 km^2, so it matches (ARP, being a fairly low frequency (compared to GSM) technology, doesn't mind line-of-sight obstructions as much as newer technologies). Although that would mean that the range is 30 km and cell size is 60 km? Anyway, it's not impossible.
