Neutrality Issues with this Page

Guerrero does not deserve to be remembered as only a "Hispanic Professional Wrestler", he deserves to be remembered as the best professional wrestler of modern times and qualifying his legacy with a term of race is an insult to his memory. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zuul (talk • contribs) .

The only neutrality issues here are those relating to you. The standard policy with wrestler pages is to explain their nationality as an adjective in the opening sentence. As Guerrero was born in Mexico but apprently became an American citizen, "Hispanic" is a more appropriate term. Calling him the "best professional wrestler of modern times" is not neutral. McPhail 18:52, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

I removed "good person" from his championships and accomplishments in WWE. It doesn't seem very neutral, and doesn't belong in that section anyway.198.138.210.117 08:55, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Phrases

I thought viva la raza would translate more as long live our race. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.168.100.80 (talk • contribs) .

Spanish grammar is very different than english grammar and thus not everything can be translated word for word. MrNordstrom

Thoughts

Well I thought it's Long Live The Race. Looked it up in internet dictionaries. In his DVD Cheating Death, Stealing Life he said "Viva La Raza" means his people but technically in Spanish means "Long Live The Race". Well it's reasonable of why its "Eddy", because of his real name Eduardo. People call their close friends like that and commonly it would be "Eddy". But I guess WWE and Guerrero himself prefers "Eddie". The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.24.100.137 (talk • contribs) .

There is no definitive right way to translate all phrases in Spanish. "Lucha Libre" technically means "free fight" but that means absolutely nothing so there has to be more to the process of translating than just looking it up in a dictionary and getting a word for word translation. Raza does mean race but a race is made of people and races are generally referred as "people" in English so Eddie's take of it meaning "the people" is a perfectly logical and acceptable translation especially if we are going to include it in an article about him.
On the name, "Eddie" isn't really used in Spanish but when Eddie wrestled, he didn't want to be Eduardo or use a different name so he went with Eddy since "ie" in Spanish does not make an "e" sound. Now that he works for the company that runs in a primarily English market, the spelling is no longer needed. --Darren Jowalsen 17:40, Jun 26, 2005 (UTC)
I think he went as Eddy for at least some of his time in WCW. --128.210.80.224 03:48, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
I think that "Hail the Race" or "Cheer the Race" would be a more exact adaptation of Viva la Raza. I'm half spanish and I may say that you are right when you say that viva means live, but it can also mean something like hail or cheers. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 193.136.19.6 (talk • contribs) .
I'm latin, and the "Long Live" phrase is more accurate to translate the "Viva". This is because is used as a word to tell a positive feeling about something, but is derivated from the verb Vivir (Live). But the most accurated translate should be something like "Live the Race", but as a kind of order. In spanish the term was originally used as a desire to keep something alive, but it's also used to say that something that maybe is not tangible or actual or alive, still is in the mind or feelings of somebody or the people. So, after that, only to say: "Viva Eddie".

I can't believe it happened so soon. Eddie gave the SmackDown! brand a kind of charm nobody in on the brand provided. As the article states, he's been through so much, but able to bring it up with a smile. I remember the great angles, such as the tag team between him and Chavo Guerrero Jr., the Lie Cheat and Steal gimmick which took the WWE by storm. As well as, the many run-ins with Kurt Angle. During a House Show this May, Eddie was a Heel, but he still had the audience chanting his name. As Keekee5 said above. He was one of the greatest wrestlers in our generation. He definetly is. I'll type it up. The reporters didn't have mics so I couldn't understand everything they said.

Vince: I'm Vince McMahon, chairman of RAW Wrestling Entertainment. This is Chavo Guerrero, who, obviously, was the closest professionally and perhaps personally to Eddie Guerrero, (something), they traveled together, from Phoenix here last night, and Chavo was with Eddie last night, and we'll take whatever questions you have.

Reporter: Do you know how he died?

Chavo: That's still pending right now, they're doing the examination tomorrow morning, I believe, but we don't know anything, really.

Reporter: Were you in the room with him?

Chavo: No, I wasn't in the room. I got a call from security, early in the morning, saying that he missed his wake up call, so, the security guard had remembered us from years past, so he called me, I went up to his room, and we found him, just out. So I didn't think anything of it, I thought "Is he alright? What's going on?" I pulled him out, "Something's not right". We called 911, started CPR, and that's it. They pronounced him.

Reporter: Was there anything unusual last night?

Chavo: No, no no. I'm sorry?

Reporter: Was there anything unusual last night?

Chavo: No, ma'am, we flew in together, watched a movie on the plane, checked in, were gonna get a bite to eat, that's what was so strange about it, we...I talked to him 30 minutes after he checked in, and he was fine.

Reporter: (I couldn't make it out, something about time and calling security.)

Chavo: I checked in..we both checked in at roughly 12:30, or so, I got call in the morning, AM, I'm sorry, yeah, 12:30 AM, and got a call in the morning, at 7 o'clock AM.

Reporter: Mr. McMahon, (something), how big a loss is this?

Vince: This is a huge loss for the WWE. Eddie Guerrero was one of the stellar performers, I daresay one of the more stellar performers in the history of our business, his family has a deep rooted history in professional wrestling, as a matter of fact, Chavo is probably the last of the batch so to speak at the moment, and the Guerrero family had a rich tradition in this business, and Eddie was a performer that few could excel to be. Eddie was a giving, wonderful, loving, fun-loving human being who had so much to give in terms of his performances and his motto of "Lie, Cheat, and Steal" was paramount, and Eddie was a consummate performer, and he will be so missed by the WWE fans, there was only one Eddie Guerrero.

Reporter: Are you going to do anything tonight? A tribue to him?

Vince: Yes, as a matter of fact, we're going to have a tribute show, for Eddie tonight, both RAW and SmackDown! actually. Eddie had so many friends, as well as so many fans. He had so many friends in the locker room and so many of our performers want to say a farewell to Eddie, and want to say a tribue to what Eddie meant to them and their lives, so tonight, which will air on Monday night and the subsequent Friday night for SmackDown!, that's pretty much what you're going to see, you're going to see these human beings really not so much as performers, but as friends of Eddie Guerrero, who want to say something about and to Eddie, so you'll see a tribute, you'll also see some of the great matches that Eddie participated in, and as well action in the ring, all of which, and I might add, that today, all of the performances by our individuals are voluntary, there's nothing that says you have to compete, you can imagine what effect this had on our locker room, it's been devastating, but nonetheless, everyone in the locker room, to a man, feels as though Eddie Guerrero, being the consummate performer that he is would want the show to go on, so they want to be a part of this tribute, they want the show to go on, and they want to be part of the tribute.

Reporter: Sounds like the show is changing drastically.

Vince: It's changing drastically and it's changing as we speak. (Reporter says something) Yes. This is not in any way, obviously, what had been planned.

Reporter: Chavo, are you going to participate tonight?

Chavo: Yes, I am. They gave me the option, I could fly home if I wanted to, or stay in my hotel room and do whatever, but if this is a tribute show to Eddie, I definitely want to be a part of it, and I know he'd want me to be a part of it, also.

Reporter: (something about the WWE and the loss of Eddie)

Chavo: It's uncomparable. We've never had a tragedy like this, when my grandfather passed away, Eddie's father, he was older in age, so it was expected, but we've never had a tragedy like this, when someone was taken so young, and it's gonna devastate the family and has devastated the family already, but we just have to try and pull together.

Reporter: (something, couldn't make out anyting)

Chavo: He had a big part of it. We all did. We've all, all of the Guerreros, there was Gory, my grandfather, his father, Chavo Sr., Mondo, Hector, and then Eddie, and we all kind of had a hand in helping each other out.

Reporter: How old was he?

Chavo: Eddie? 38.

Reporter: Did he have two daughters?

Chavo: Three daughters.

Reporter: How old are they?

Chavo: Shaul, I believe she's 12, 12ish, Sherylin is roughly 10, 9-10, and he has a new daughter, Kaylie, that's 2-3.

Reporter: Does your family want you to come home, or do they want you to stay here?

Chavo: They want me to be here. They want me to stay and help out any way I can here.

Reporter: (something, had 'here' in there)

Chavo: No, his family is not here yet. He's originally from El Paso, Texas, yes.

Vince: Ironically, Eddie moved his family out to Phoenix just a couple of weeks ago. Didn't he?

Chavo: *nods*

Reporter: Have you talked to his wife?

Chavo: Yes.

Reporter: How is she?

Chavo: She's not handling it very well. But we didn't do it over the phone, we had - his sister and his mother live in Phoenix also, so we contacted his sister, who contacted his mother, face-to-face, and then went face-to-face to his wife.

Reporter: What were the last five minutes you spent with Eddie? What happened? Did he say he felt fine, or..?

Chavo: He felt fine, we both got wake up calls, we were going to meet downstairs at 8 o'clock for some breakfast and then go to the gym, he said he was going to - room service was closed, so he said he was going to get some takeout to his room, and really that was it, we hugged and kissed goodbye. We were on the plane, I connected from California, through San Anna (?) airport, through Phoenix, and I saw him get on the plane, just outta the blue, 'Hey! What're you doing here?', we sat next to each other, watched a movie, we talked, everything was fine.

Reporter: Eddie was pretty open about substance abuse (Chavo: Yes), (something about being sober), do you think that had any role in it?

Chavo: Eddie just let me know, on the plane, that he just had his 4-year sobriety, 3 days ago, I believe it was the 15th of November, he just let know, and he was very proud of it, I high-fived him and hugged him and kissed him, I told him I was proud of him..(reporter asks him something) 4 year, 4 year. I seriously would doubt that, very very much.

Reporter: What were Eddie's (something, 'problems' maybe)

Chavo: He was an addict. He was addicted to everything, but mostly alcohol and perscription-like painkillers, or something.

Reporter: Have you ever heard of a case, where even if you haven't been using for 4 years, your body shuts down? Have you ever heard of a case?

Chavo: I don't know, I---

Vince: It's speculation, you know, obviously with Eddie's past history, with the abuse he put himself through before he got cleaned up, I think that, no doubt, that takes some toll on your body, whether or not that had anything to do with his untimely demise, I have no idea, and maybe an autopsy will tell us.

Reporter: How long has he been a professional wrestler?

Chavp: 17 years...I think his debut match was when he was 18, so really 20 years.

Reporter: So would you say that him, cleaning up his act so to speak, was an inspiration to other performers? Staying clean, and keeping...

Chavo: 100%. Not just other performers, but fans. He was very open about it and was constantly getting people coming up to him, I was with him, and the airports were..people would tell him that they've gone through it or are going through it, and what an inspiration he was.

Vince: He was also very open about his newfound faith as well. He was a born-again Christian (Chavo: Yes).

Reporter: How long has Eddie been (something, probably 'been in the WWE')

Vince: Since 2000...so 5, probably. Eddie has performed all over the world, including WCW, and he came into the WWE around the year 2000.

Reporter: Will his family recieve (something, support from the WWE)

Vince: Yes. Eddie Guerrero will have royalties coming in for...forever, and those royalties will go straight to his family.

Reporter: Anyting else you want us to know, or do you have anything else to say?

Vince: No, just that obviously, we're all deeply saddened by Eddie's passing, and it's gonna be tough to get over, but Eddie would want the show to go on, and that's what we're going to try to do, here tonight.

Reporter: Do you think the fans will know (something)

Vince: Yes, there is no question. If they don't, which we know they will, they'll know when they arrive and they'll see what we're going to do in terms of a tribute to Eddie.

Reporter: Was Eddie a performer on both shows, or just one?

Vince: Eddie was going to be on one show.

Reporter: Which one is that?

Vince: SmackDown!.

Reporter: (couldn't make out anything)

Vince: It was going to be a collage type deal.

Reporter: Was this at the Marriott?

Vince: I'm sorry?

Reporter: Was this at the Marriott?

Vince: I can't hear what he said.

Chavo: Was this at the Marriott?

Vince: Yes, at the Marriott.

Reporter: Is there anything else, Chavo, that you would like to add about Eddie?

Chavo: Like Mr. McMahon said, I know that Eddie would want the show to go on, he was 100% business, and there are other people that feed their families from this show, and he would definitely want it not to halt, to keep going on and continue, and feed families. He had a huge heart, one of the biggest hearts of any person I know personally, and I know that he had alot of love for these people, and for the fans, and he's going to be missed, not just by the family, not just by the wrestlers, but also by the fans, tremendously.

Vince: Thank you guys very much.

The conference ran just under 12 minutes. Methnor 14:03, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

Slight error?

On the day of his death, he was set to face Batista and Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship on November 13 taping of Friday Night SmackDown! to air on November 18. It was highly speculated that he was to win the title that night and hence walk out World Heavyweight Champion for the 2nd time (his first major title reign was in February 2004), a rumor fueled by the fact that current champion Batista is scheduled to have surgery.

Eddie was never the WHC prior...he won the WWE Title who's lineage is separate from the World Heavyweight Championship (which is supposed to trace it's ancestry from WCW). It's a bit misleading, unless it was meant that he was going to win the second top-level belt in his career.

Also if you want to get into it, I'm fairly certain he would have been the first man to hold the 2 belts since the roster split. Possibly a little tidbit if I'm right128.226.160.123 18:15, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

First, WHC does NOT trace its ancestry back to WCW as wwe.com says. Second, it would have been his 2nd world title reign. They refer to Flair as a 16 time world champion, HHH as a 10 time champ, Hogan as a 12 time champ, etc. that means it would have been his 2nd world title.

THe beginning of the WHC WAS the WCW championship---When the WCW-ECW allaince act was ended, the Rocks' WCW championship belt became the World Heavyweight Championship. It was taken out of play when hte two titles merged but eventually they brought it back to seperate the titles given between RAW and Smackdown. I am not sure, however, if the WHC belt used now is the same one that was used in the WCW, it could have been easily changed and it is hard to tell because there is no color writing except that marking Batista as Champion. - bmsprint198.59.6.196 02:12, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Get it right

The World Heavyweight Championship goes back far longer than WCW. It was started in 1904 as the NWA's World Heavyweight Championship. In January of 1991 when Ted Turner took over the NWA he kept the NWA Championship belt. This was the (apparently) first professional wrestling world championship. While Turner's WCW did have a WCW championship, it was changed into the WCW Television Championship. The older (NWA) World Heavyweight Championship remained the main title simply because it was older, more respected and had a long lineage.

In 2002, the WWE (then WWF) bought WCW. Along with that came all the titles. The WWF already had a main title. It was the WWF Championship. However, the World Heavyweight Title was brought along as Booker T's belt. It was called the WCW Championship. After the Alliance angle, the title was called by its true name, the World Heavyweight Championship. The Rock won the title. Stone Cold was the WWF Champion. Chris Jericho defeated both the Rock and Steve Austin and became the first Undisputed Champion.

Eventually, an Undisputed Championship Belt was designed and Brock Lesnar became the champion. When the WWE seperated into two seperate brands (Raw and SmackDown!), Brock Lesnar formed an exclusivity deal with Stephanie McMahon (then SmackDown! General Manager). Since Lesnar would not perform on Raw, Raw's General Manager (Eric Bischoff) assigned the World Heavyweight Championship to Triple H. The belt used by Brock Lesnar to represent the WWE Championship was still the belt that had been designed as the Undisputed Championship (and still is today with the exclusion of special instances such as the current champion, John Cena, who uses a custom belt).

The World Heavyweight Championship is in no way the WCW Championship. Technically that is the WCW Television Championship. The WWE Championship is in no way a World Championship. It merely makes one the champion of the WWE. Whereas, the World Championship (currently held by Dave Batista) makes one the champion of the entire world. The belt has been through many federations and been around since 1904. It IS THE World Championship. It will not die with the WWE. The WWE Championship, however, will. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.219.130.88 (talk • contribs) .

There is no ONE "World Champion". The NWA World Heavyweight belt is still defended in TNA. Many other promotions also still have WHC belts. To say that the WWE World Champion belt is the ONLY WHC is ridiculous. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.76.145.173 (talk • contribs) .

Ignoring the pointless dispute over lineage (I was the anon who started this thread), my main point was with the terminology involved. an anon below mentioned it...there are 2 meanings to World Heavyweight Championship. One of them has to do with magazines like PWI s a aclassification of the top belt in a fed, and the other is the actual title itself. Because of this particular fact, the statement is potentially misleading. That is what I wa sasking about, not a pointless lineage dispute.Toffile 15:35, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

The line in the article's section concerning his death states it would be tomorrow but a transcription of the press conference has Chavo placing it about 3 days ago. Anyone know an exact date? 63.233.13.96 23:31, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

It's on the 15th. Remember that the press conference was held only a few hours after he died, Chavo was, most likely, very shaken up, and mixed up the dates. Methnor 04:55, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

McPhail even though Eddy was born in Mexico and not Texas after all he is still American because his father was born in Arizona. Whe they say World Heavyweight Champ at times that refers to a championship of World title status in the wrestling world. the WHC in WWE is just a trademarked name. So it would've been his second WHC but not his second WHC® because the WWE championship is the ex-WWWF/WWF World heavyweight title. And he preferred Eddy but the U.S. Feds just anglicized it like PWI magazine does with Misterio. Vital Component -- Nov 14, 2005 11:16 EST. 1967-2005 R.I.P. The WWE Title is not a world championship. It merely makes on the champion of the WWE. The World Heavyweight Championship makes one the champion of the world. The World Heavyweight Championship has been around since 1904. It is THE World Heavyweight Championship. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.219.130.88 (talk • contribs) .

The WWE title has been around since 1963 when it was known as the WWWF Championship title belt. The World Heavyweight Championship was the old WCW belt that Eric Bischoff brought in for Raw after Brock Lesnar was exclusive to Smackdown.

Cause of Death Needs Correction

Eddie did not die while in his sleep because I remember hearing that he was still holding his toothbrush when he died, and I don't believe Chavo nor Vince mentioned in the press conference that he died in his sleep either. OutRider2003 20:37, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

He was found dead on his bathroom floor with his toothbrush in hand. Eddie or Guerrero?

Since Eddie is not the only 'Guerrero', and that Eddie Guerrero is referred to as Eddie by most people, I edited the 'Guerrero' that refers to Eddie Guerrero to 'Eddie'. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 202.168.99.16 (talk • contribs) .

This has been reverted. Instances whether there are two Guerreros can be differentiated by using "Eddie Guerrero". It is standard practise in all encylopedias, including Wikipedia, to refer to article subjects by their surname. McPhail 23:22, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

Finishing and signature moves

This is a bit on a selfish side but Eddie's finishing and signature moves are listed in different ways compared to most others, such as Shawn Michaels and Triple H. Such as Lasso From El Paso (Texas cloverleaf) instead of Lasso From El Paso. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 202.168.99.16 (talk • contribs) .

The former method is used where the move in question has a proper name, with the brackets containing the move description / the standard name of the move. McPhail 13:09, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

Hmm... at least it can be Lasso From El Paso (Modified Texas cloverleaf hold) instead of Lasso From El Paso (Modified Texas cloverleaf hold). And wouldn't you be able to know the standard name of the move by browsing the move?

Could Eddie's variation of the chair shot, grabbing the chair or whatever when the ref was down and then giving it to his oppoent and pretending to be knocked down when the ref got back up, be considered a finishing or signature move?

If you want to comment on how the moves should be listed do it in the project talk page. The wrestler profile pages have to be consistent. The style has evolved, and some pages still hold older formats which were once used.

Request for adding an interwiki in the article

Hi. It would be nice that a sysop would accept to add the French interwiki in the article : [[fr:Eddie Guerrero]]. Thanks. Hégésippe | ±Θ± 01:27, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

How can people vandalize pages profiting of the fact that guy died and the page will be watched by the mass. Those people suck. Eddie, you were the greatest, I always thought that and always will. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.229.90.64 (talk • contribs) .

"The WWE Title is not a world championship. It merely makes on the champion of the WWE. The World Heavyweight Championship makes one the champion of the world. The World Heavyweight Championship has been around since 1904. It is THE World Heavyweight Championship."

But its predesessor is the WWF WORLD title. Even though it is no longer billed as the WWE World championship the WWE Championship still retains World title status. Duh. The WWE Title has been around since 1963. The World Heavyweight title has been around since 2002. The NWA title goes back to '48. WCW Title to 1990/91. He is a 1 time champion of a title with World title status... V.C.- 2:11 AM Nov 20.

FIRST RAW/SMACKDOWN EVENT WITHOUT EDDIE

Do anyone really know how tough it was last night to watch RAW and see that Smackdown getting beat and knowing that Eddie would normally make the save and you just wait to see him do it in your heart but, know in your mind that isn't going to happen because sadly enough he gone away from us. J. C. - (09:10 22 Nov 05, UTC)

It keeps troubling me even now, almost 3 months later - everytime the show goes off air 9:59/10:00pm, that there's one match, one entrance, one theme still to hit, but didn't for some reason...I really wish there is a heaven - people like Eddie deserve nothing less. RAW/SmackDown! tribute show article?

Does anybody else here think that the RAW and SmackDown! shows that were dedicated to Guerrero (the two immediately following his death) should have their own article like RAW is Owen? Jeff Silvers 21:18, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

I agree J. C. 06:15, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

I somewhat agree, but what will we call the article? --LBMixPro<Speak|on|it!> 03:18, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
  • I agree, but please leave most of the content on "Remembering Eddie" here. User:Rama's Arrow.

Eddie Guerrero Special Article

There is now a Eddie Guerrero: Memorial and Tribute Shows article, linked with the section Remembering Eddie.

I ask for all Eddie and WWE fans, for Eddie's sake, to help expand the article and keep it a good quality article, and defend its inclusion in case there is a move to delete it or question its NPOV.

Jai Sri Rama! Rama's Arrow 17:09, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

I moved it to Tributes to Eddie Guerrero, so it doesn't necessarily have to cover shows in his memory, but the reported video/album WWE is supposed to release. --Jtalledo (talk) 17:12, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

What happened to the Tributes to Eddie Guerrero page now? Dark Rain

Biography Top Box

I'm working in the portuguese edition of Wikipedia.

I would be happy if someone could give me the script of the wrestlers' biography top box, named "pwstatbox".

Actual size?

Does anyone know what size this guy really was? I see only the billed figures here (with incorrect conversion I might add: 228 lbs=103 kg, not 104). Compared to the likes of 5'3" (1.60 m) Rey Mysterio and 6'3" (1.91 m) Batista (this is what they're said to be in real life), he looked about 5'6" (1.68 m) tall, weighing maybe 180–190 lbs (82–86 kg). Guesses don't count here of course, so it would be good if somene knows the facts.

Dave Meltzer when writing his issue reported that Eddie Guerrero was legitimately 5 feet 6.5 inches tall.

It says that Eddie used narcottic painkillers at the time of his death, making it sound like he was still addicted to painkillers, which were part of his addictions years before.--Gusiman 00:29, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

I have removed some the Urban Legends & Myth section from the Eddie Guerrero & WWE articles

The reason I did is it is just pure disrespectful to Eddie to have these paragraphs saying he faked his death and still alive. I wish he was still alive but I do not vandalize articles proclaiming he is still alive because it morally wrong and distasteful to his legend. BionicWilliam 07:27, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Is his last name really Llanes? Where did that come from?

At a guess, it's from his mother. That's traditional in Spanish-language countries I think (or at least I know several people in Spain who have names like that.) For future reference though, please can you sign your talk comments by finishing them with ~~~~ - thanks! Essexmutant 06:28, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Just a slight edit when he was refferd to as Black Tiger his second rope crucifix was refered to as Splash Moutain as well i put it in there as I see no harm in it being done Improvcaptain

Vandalism

This article is constantly being vandalised, which is in very poor taste considering it is about someone who died recently. Can it be locked? Sasaki 03:04, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Eddie and Rey in ECW

"It was also in ECW that Eddie first forged a friendship with Rey Mysterio Jr, the Hispanic bond between them drawing them togetehr acorss the locker room." - this comment has been removed as to the best of my knowledge it is untrue. Eddie's last match in ECW was on 26th August 1995, while Rey Misterio Jr did not debut in ECW until 16th September 1995. Sasaki 22:41, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Comments box

There should be a box for people to write messages about Eddie Guerrero--not really on the discussion pages. --Fr3nZi3 23:07, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Whoa

This talk page has a lot of comments. We should nominate this as a good article. Should we?

Scuse this non-members comments, but I believe that, although that is a good idea, it could be abused in so many ways but also there will be far too many people wanting to add a comment.

Irrelevance of Storyline

I don't think that the current storyline involving Rey and Chavo is really relevant enough to be included in this article. But I just wanted to ask for opinions before deleting that part. Akkifokkusu 05:47, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Vickie Guerrero needs her own article

She is now a character on WWE Smackdown (having just turned heel on Rey Mysterio) and is officially part of their roster now. She has been featured every week for the last month, and it looks as if she is going to manage Chavo. Its time for her own Wikipedia entry. 65.30.40.87 07:36, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

I am agreeing with you, I wanted to look up Vickie Guerrero, but got re-directed to Eddie. Govvy 21:38, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

the link of the official site was deleted again , i wrote the link back , and changed the order , i think it's logical that the official site is first , then his WWE's profile , and then the fansite ... right??? RIP...Vandals

Ok. We all know you miss Eddie Guerrero; i do too, i suppose. Now stop vandalizing the page!!! And Chavo's page. Chavo isnt Eddie. Chavo had nothing to do with his death. Stop vandalizing Eddie's page, and if you have to vandalize, at least vandalize the right page so it makes sense!!! (Someday i hope we will be saying "RIP vandals" instead of "RIP Eddie Freakin Guerrero".... Thank you...--Cookie 18:30, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Omitted details

What about Eddie's match with JBL at Judgement Day 2004. There is no mention of this match in the article. it should be included as Eddie bled a shitload. Screw the Muta scale it should now be on the Eddie scale. Go to this site and see. http://inthisveryring.com/pictures/eddieblood2.jpg 60.227.99.12 07:29, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

CHAVO AND VICKIE

Stop your dumb rants!Obviously, the storyline between rey and chavo should have it's own freakin' section in this artical, because it is dismembering eddie's name! How can they do that to him?IT'S FREAKIN DISGUSTIN'! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 152.163.100.200 (talkcontribs) .

Whether or not it offends some (or a lot) of people, individual feuds never get their own sections. The only time a feud would get its own section would be if the feud lasted for years. Also, if this feud were to get its own section, it would be in Rey or Chavo or Vickie's article, not this one. -- THL 04:17, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

I agreed with the fued. Disgusting it took his name in vain, like the creative team just made a buck over his death, like someone wiped their ass with his legacy. Complete bullshit. I have stopped watching Smackdown since July 31, 2006. Thank god it is over. BTW, Is the Benoit/Chavo fued about Eddie like the Rey/Chavo fued, or is it just for the US title???

I would answer your question, but it isn't relevant to this article. -- THLR 21:49, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

POV

I think the sentence pertaining to the explotation of Eddie Guerreros death is pretty POV. I'm a little torn as to wheter to remove it or not seeing as I agree with it whole heartedly. I mean the guy died over a year ago yet they have his nephew and wife playing a heel role feuding with two of best friends in the world, Rey and Chris. However as the sentence is a little POV I think it might need to be taken out or given its own section. Let me get some feedback please.--24.184.169.37 04:52, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Take it out, as it is POV just as you said. I would do it myself, but I don't know where it is in the article. Cheers, -- THL 05:30, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

1) As for the "World Heavyweight Championship" vs "WWE Championship" battle, this is not the place to write about this. Anyway, you don't judge which title is bigger, better and greater by it's name, but by WHO HAVE HELD IT! The WWE Championship is the richest prize you can find in sports-entertainment, period. For example, the greatest professional wrestler of all-time, the legendary phenom The Undertaker has held the WWE Championship 4 times but never held the Big Gold Belt in NWA, WCW or WWE at all. And he is not the only man to make the WWE title the biggest honor in the world of combat sports (or sports-entertainment I should say). What about the man Eddie? What about Andre the Giant? And the list goes on and on..............

2) Eddie, we will surely miss you. REST IN PEACE MAN!
