There's a lot of new content here that is not specific to the penny and should be moved to a more general article on Canadian currency or coinage. —Joeyconnick (talk) 20:37, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I mean it could go straight into talking about the penny, but I thought some brief context would be helpful. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 00:50, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

1953 Canadian penny

[edit]

I am omitting the following due to a lack of sourcing:

When newly struck 1953 struck Canadian pennies featuring the new effigy first appeared they had fewer details than anticipated. The Royal Canadian Mint realized that the relief on the Queen's effigy was too high which made the coins harder to strike up fully.

I can't find any reliable sources which give a reasoning behind these changes. Coins and Canada ([1]) can't be a reliable source here as the author who wrote in the information has no visible background information about them (are they an expert? ect...). - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 14:27, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
