Edit summary

[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

Enjoy! Oleg Alexandrov 15:20, 17 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

And again

[edit]

I came to explain edit summaries, but someone beat me to it by months. You're still not using them; please do, as otherwise it can waste a lot of time for other editors (it's also Wikipedia policy to do so). If I see that you've just added an interwiki, I generally won't bother to check the entry on my Watchlist. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 23:10, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hey Narvalo...

Running thru all wikipedia's i ran in to article about Wacław Komar that you have made

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. February 2021: Talk:Socotra

[edit]

I notice you removed a post from that page with the edit summary "-own". I don't understand your meaning. Please explain your reasoning so I may understand what is going on in that talk page. Thanks--Quisqualis (talk) 18:19, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, never mind! I see you self-reverted.--Quisqualis (talk) 18:23, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
