Hi Isam. Wikipedia articles are not for putting editor information in - some people see this as making vanity pages. However, you do have a user page which is wholly your own. Click here to edit yours. Thanks Dysprosia 23:57, 7 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Ya.. I got that fixed. Thanks for the note . -- Isam

Hi Isam, nice to say hello in the kurdish wikipedia, do you know kurdish, too? Erdal Ronahi

Hi Isam, sorry for creating empty pages with just links, but I found it could be helpful for others to see, what is already in the Wikipedias of other languages. Unfortunately my arabic language skills are not very good, so I try to help in linking and formating, (as I just did in the page about Jordan). Another problem for me is that I don't have a keyboard to write in arabic, I have to do it with http://djini.de/better_arabic.html. I even very difficult for me to create an own account. In the meantime you may use eo:Vikipediisto:Multkolorbirdo, because I dot use my german account anymore. In the German wikipedia I used the name "Halsbandsittich" in Vikipedio my name is Multkolorbirdo (Colorful Bird) just more or less as a translation of my German name. I wouldn't like to use a name like this in the arab Wikipedia, but rather a more serious one, but up to now I have almost now idea for a name.

Isam, which countries in North Africa would you consider to be part of the Middle East? I know that Egypt and Libya should, but should the term used by a History article go further than that? WhisperToMe 00:32, 11 Mar 2004 (UTC)

The thing is that those countries throughout history, had been more or less under 1-2 countries ruling at a time, I am talking about the Ottoman, Umayyad, [[Abbasid], [[Fatimid] and so on.. most of those kingdoms had the south west Asia, and North Afria under one rulling, making them more or less share the same history. How, Think about what does "Middle East" mean to the most ? it means Israel and the Arab Countries :), and some times it include Turkey, and Iran. So the term "Middle East" by it self is very loose in a way that I guess it is hard to set it in a strict way. But generally, Middleeasy include the arab countries that are in the east, including Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco. As for the page "History of the middle east", I guess that it should not be very detailed, and include links to "History of Jordan", "History of Egypt" and so on.. as it will be impossible to put everything in details there.. look at History of Europe -- Isam 14:56, 11 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Isam, thanks for that note. Hopefully I'll be able to flesh out the CISV area in the future, there's certainly a lot to say. It's interesting to note that there's already a pretty good page about Doris Allen. Joshuapaquin 21 Mar 2004

Hi! I see that you speak Arabian! --It would be nice if you could place arabian writting of Libyan Arab Airlines name on that page!

                 Thank you in advance

--Avala 15:09, 06 Apr 2004 UTC Thank you very much for writting arabic name! --Avala 13:17, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Hi. If you have a moment, I wonder if you might take a glance over Yanbu' al Bahr, which I've hastily cobbled together from the few english scraps I can find. Could you check that it's not utter nonsense, and if possible add the arabic text for the name and the arabic interwiki. Many thanks. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 02:24, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Super, thanks. That gives the article an air of credibility it doesn't really deserve :) -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 18:23, 5 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Can you please translate the election notice * into Arabic and post it prominently on the Recent Changes page of the Arabic Wikipedia. Once you have done that, please let me know, and leave me a link where I can find it. Thanks. Danny 00:16, 6 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

People's Democratic Republic of Yemen

[edit]

Good day, Isam, if you've got any spare time, could you have a look at People's Democratic Republic of Yemen and transliterate the official name of the country? I've got the Latin alphabet Arabic name, just not the name in Arabic script.

Also, if you know anything about Yemen during the Cold War, feel free to contribute it.

Thanks in advance. DO'Neil 08:59, Jun 22, 2004 (UTC)

Hello Isam, the image used in the article on Albert Einstein on ar: is a copyright violation: it is © by Magnum. Because of this, this image got deleted from the English Wikipedia. Could you please see to it that it is also removed from the Arabic Wikipedia? It can be replaced by the public domain image at Image:Albert Einstein by Yousuf Karsh.jpg. Thank you. Hi, here is a vote related to Western Sahara, it's about the neutrality of wikipedia in this conflict, are you interested? Daryou 18:27, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Translation request

[edit]

Hello, I saw that you can translate from Arabic, so I would like to ask you if you could take a look at 2003 invasion of Iraq and Iraq War. There is a featured article in Arabic which we would like to know how it could be used the English one which is of course dominated by people who have either been there as soldiers or have their knowledge from western media. Someone also asked if the section about "related propaganda and phrases" could be amplified with information about the Iraqi side. Maybe there are also people who took photos in Iraq at the Arabic version? Nameme 14:20, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Arabic Wikipedia

[edit]

First, salaam Isam, it's been a long long time:) (drop me a mail if you're curious:))

I understand you're the one who launched the Arabic WP, and I have a couple of issues before I could participate there.
First, the font setting makes it absolutely unreadable, it's a mess. Is it possible to change that (putting Tahoma with a bigger size would be more reasonable)? Is it possible to leave the font setting up to a user in case some like it that way (I'd be surprised, but who knows)?
My second issue is with URLs. It is possible to have a URL appear in Arabic in the URL field of your browser. URLs with %D9%88%D9%8A%D9%83%D9%8A%D8%A8%D9%8A%D8%AF%D9%8A%D8%A7:%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D9%8A%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%86 are absolutely unreadable too.

If this requires fidlling with the code, I don't mind doing so. Just let me know please, because this is a huge barrier imho, compared to the English WP where reading and editing is totally straightforward, with no impediment whatsoever. --Yobaranut 17:29, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Report

[edit]

Im doing a report on Arabic Language Wikipedia and information on it is pretty scarce, i was wondering if you could provide any info, or sources. Thanks

Article on Al-

[edit]

Hi. I wonder if you wouldn't mind taking a look at the article above, and expanding it further, or adding any sources appropriate for our English Wikipedia. I've already built it from a one-sentence stub using the sum total of my knowledge on the subject. Specifically, someone raised questions about the etymology of Semitic definite articles that I just couldn't answer. So I'm trying to recruit other Wikipedians with Arabic/linguistic expertise, such as yourself. Thanks very much! --Fsotrain09 02:26, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Maktoob logo.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Maktoob logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:14, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Arabeyes up for deletion

[edit]

You crated the article, and may have previously participated in the AFD for this article. WP:Link rot is not a reason to delete. Open source publisher trying to aid Arab language users with their computers etc. It was established in early 2001 by a number of Arab Linux enthusiasts. Trying to find sources is hampered by the presumed language of sources. It is a systemic bias in Wikipedia. Arabic language speakers needed. 7&6=thirteen () 16:36, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as Alexander Key, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
