Making a shadow puppet

[edit]

Can anyone please tell me how to make a shadow puppet? (anon 17 May 2005)

  • More of a reference desk question, but you can probably glean a bit from the description at Wayang of how these are made in Indonesia. You can make a simple shadow puppet out of cardboard with an exacto knife, gluing a flattened dowel or similar stick to it to have something to manipulate it with; insofar as you want to put together separate moving parts, you could rivet them, or attach them any of several other ways. Cardboard shadow puppets should be good for one-off use, but probably won't be terribly durable, and certainly will not be appropriate for fight scenes. -- Jmabel | Talk 20:46, May 17, 2005 (UTC)

Merge?

[edit]

Shadow play is more fully developed. It's also decently referenced, which this isn't. If nothing here can be cited, perhaps this should redirect without merging. -- Jmabel | Talk 04:59, August 17, 2005 (UTC)
