I wanted to clarify some text that reads as follows:

It is a recently developed site to celebrate one of Korea's foundation myths.

In this case who or what recently developed the site? Exactly how is it related to mythology? ^^Mumun 22:34, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, those questions are answered in a brief introductory fashion on my page: http://www.san-shin.org/3sages1.html I really need to update and improve those pages, give more explanation and evidence/citations and post many more photos of it -- perhaps this winter I will get to that. Sanshinseon 09:21, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sanshinseon, I am Mumun. Wow! You have an excellent website. I hope you will transfer some of those nice photos to the article. Several years ago I worked on 경주 남산 with the 국립경주문화연구소 and UNESCO in my professional capacity, and some of the content on your website reminded me of those days.Mumun 11:30, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mumun, it's nice to meet you here, and thanks for the appreciation. 경주 남산 is surely one of the most fascinating places... I lived in Gyeongju 1986-7, and have been a tour-guide to Nam-san several times. I'm now a professor of Korean Tourism at Kyunghee University. Jiri-san is one of my favorite topics; I'm reading my paper about it's religious assets to a Korean Studies Conference in New Delhi exactly a week from now, and going to give a speech and slideshow about that to the Royal Asiatic Society meeting in Seoul on January 9th. This page on Jiri-san could be greatly improved, needs a lot of work -- and the pages on other Korean mountains are even worse -- there is nothing at all yet about the very important Taebaeksan -- I will try to contribute to the improvements that are needed, along with the rest of you on this, as far as I have time to do so. Hello all, I just corrected a bunch of errors and did some edits, including moving the non-Jiri info on the Baedu-daegan over to the page on it which has been put up. Let me know your opinions. I haven't had time to do the thorough makeover this page needs, but when i can i will. Sanshinseon 05:53, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Say, who was it that added this text under Samshin-bong?: "Creeks in the vicinity are not safe to drink from without purification or filtering. Giardia lamblia, a water-bourne parasite, is found in South Korean streams, along with other parasites and pathogens." Hey, 22 years of hiking in Korea, ALWAYS drinking from the alpine springs and streams, and I've never heard this and never known anyone who has gotten a Giardia infestation (or any other sickness) by doing so. This has always been considered one of the delights of hiking in Korea, that the excellent granite-filtered water is drinkable in its fresh state. Do you have any citation for this sweeping claim that this is a common problem in South Korea??? If not, i'd suggest that those lines be removed. Sanshinseon 06:16, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, having waited long enough with no reply, I'm going to remove those lines, as I'm pretty sure they are mistaken and misleading. Sanshinseon 05:23, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More History???

[edit]

Currently the only history (as distinct from legend) listed here is from the Korean War Period. I don't know enough, but surely there must have been other significant events. It would have been close to the border of Baekje and Gaya early on, then subsequently between Baekje and Silla, hard to believe nothing happened here (maybe it just wasn't recorded, I guess). What about the Imjin War? Even just a series of links to the relevant parts of other wikipedia entries would be useful. Is anyone able to tackle this? Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Cliffhanger (South Korean TV series) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 02:49, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
