Unspecified source for Image:Evabraun.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Evabraun.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:23, 20 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Anrie 20:23, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Avital Inbar

[edit]

Hello, Rami Neudorfer

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Slatersteven and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Avital Inbar, should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Avital Inbar.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Slatersteven}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

{{Re|Slatersteven}}.

Avital Inbar is a household name in Israel. He is one of the most prolific translators and travel writers.

Here is the wikipedia article on him

Googling him will give you 186,000 results, much more than hundreds of Israeli personae mentioned in Wikipedia.

I have no personal interest with this person except that I research Jewish life in Kaunas

Blocked for sockpuppetry

[edit]

{{unblock|I have two user names: One for my Hebrew edits and one for my rarer English edits. Is there anything wrong with that? [[User:Rami Neudorfer|Rami Neudorfer]] ([[User talk:Rami Neudorfer#top|talk]]) 06:15, 8 November 2019 (UTC)}}

ST47: Rami have asked me for help regarding what he claims to be unjustified block. Rami is editing with two account, one is User:Rami Neudorfer and the other is User:רמי נוידרפר (which is used mainly in hewiki). This is clear from the nick name (for people who read Hebrew), and possibly wasn't clear enough in the user page. Anyway, the two accounts are used for easy communication with otehr users and wasn't created to have multiple votes in same discussion. Can you please clarify to Rami what is the proper way to indicate the conncetion between the accounts, and unblock him? thanks, Eran (talk) 13:32, 8 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I confirm that this is a legitimate user. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 23:41, 8 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@ערן and Amire80:, both accounts participated in editing and in a deletion discussion related to Avital Inbar, which is the reason for the block. Anyone who cannot read the Hebrew script would believe that these were two different people. If both accounts are to be used on the English Wikipedia, and as part of the same discussions, I would recommend they follow the advice at WP:ALTACCN to add templates to their userpages linking the accounts, redirect the talk page of the alt to the main, and to update the signature of the secondary account to something that links to the main account, such as "רמי נוידרפר (Rami Neudorfer | talk)". Creffpublic and Bri.public are two examples of ways to do the user page, talk page, and signature. If Rami is willing to take these steps, I would endorse unblocking both accounts. Fellow admins: I am presently on travel with limited access to Wikipedia. If you are satisfied that they understand, then feel free to unblock both accounts without any further need to consult a CheckUser. ST47 (talk) 03:17, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I only used both user names - the Hebrew one and the English one on the same article by mistake... There is no reason to mix the two. I am still the same REAL person with my REAL name Rami Neudorfer (talk) 08:55, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that this was a mistake. Our policy page, WP:SOCK even mentions that Alternative accounts should always be identified as such on their user pages, except where doing so would defeat the point of the account.. SQLQuery me! 23:39, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am disabling the unblock request, as the block has now expired. For the record, I will note the following two corrections to statements made above.
  1. ST47 was mistaken in saying that both accounts took part in the same deletion discussion, though one account did take part in a deletion discussion about an article created by the other account. That runs the risk of misleading other editors into thinking that there is independent support, so try to make sure you avoid making that mistake again.
  2. It is not quite true that you use the account רמי נוידרפר for editing Hebrew Wikipedia and Rami Neudorfer for English Wikipedia. In fact, while it is true that you have never edited Hebrew Wikipedia with the account Rami Neudorfer, the account רמי נוידרפר, has made more edits to English Wikipedia than Rami Neudorfer.
  • The account רמי נוידרפר is currently blocked indefinitely. It is probably best to leave it that way, to avoid any risk of future mistakes. JBW (talk) Formerly JamesBWatson 17:28, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

JBW - My English account has now been blocked indefintely, after the intial block which was only for 3 days. I fail to see the reason--Rami Neudorfer רמי נוידרפר (talk) 18:48, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand. The account "Rami Neudorfer" is not currently blocked, and it has been blocked only once, for seven days: it has never been blocked either indefinitely or for three days. The account "רמי נוידרפר" is blocked indefinitely, but has never been blocked on any other occasion, for three days or for any other time period. Can you clarify?
