Spelling of Article Titles

[edit]

Hello Hjortur,

Thank you for posting recent articles. I'd like to give you advice on making your articles easier for readers to find. If you write the article title using only the 26 letters of the English alphabet (without diacritical marks such as umlauts), then readers of the English Wikipedia will be able to find the articles without difficulty. Within the article, of course, you'll have the opportunity to spell it using the symbols of your language. This is especially important because many readers of Wikipedia do not know how to type some of the symbols you are using in your article titles. (I don't know how to type them.)

Also, you can create "redirect" pages to help people get to your article. This is very easy to do. Simply type

  1. REDIRECT name

and replace name with the title of a Wikipedia article in double brackets (not in italics).

I edit many articles on Japanese people, so I face the same problem!

Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia.

spelling?

[edit]

hi hjortur,

i´m intending to write an short article on the EIK(m-l), but i´m unsure of the spelling in Icelandic. Would "Einingasamtök Kommunista (m-l)" be correct? --Soman 22:12, 13 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Your image

[edit]

Hi! Thanks for uploading Image:Arnalds r.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) Thanks so much, Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 00:52, Oct 15, 2004 (UTC)

Unverified images

[edit]

Hi! Thanks for uploading the following image:

I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GNU Free Documentation License, {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know at my talk page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much. [[User:Poccil|Peter O. (Talk, automation script)]] 21:35, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)

P.S. You can help tag other images at User:Yann/Untagged_Images. Thanks again.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Samfylking4.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Samfylking4.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
