Definitions of what is and is not a city is left up to the individual jurisdictions. RickK 07:50, 6 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Which jurisdiction, the State or the wide spot in the road? (eg in Nova Scotia, the province defines Village, Town, and City, and sets the responsibilities of each)--Kwantus

The definitions of what is a city, town, township, village vary greatly in different states of the United States, for instance, New York has all of these 4 distintions, and Kentucky only has city, but has distinctions of 1st class city, i.e. Louisville, Kentucky thru 6th class Fox Chase, Kentucky. This article needs to be separated into 2 articles, one for the city/town/village of Andersonville, Georgia and one for Andersonville Prison. Rogerd 04:40, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
